Active Shooter Response Training For Businesses

As an employer, it is very important that you provide your employees the training that can benefit them during day to day job activities, or what to do during an emergency. From 2000 to current times, most active killer events have taken place as commerce facilities. This statistic should not be ignored when it comes to preparing your employees properly.

An active killer response plan is just as important as having a plan for other more common emergencies. Our online active shooter response course was developed for employers and employees alike. We designed it so that all have access to the same material, bringing everyone together cohesively. Response teams, or those in an administrative position, also get access to additional locked lessons that will help with prevention or a more prepared response.

Defender School showed me how I can de-escalate a situation and also how to respond in an active killer situation. The information was very informative on how to help myself and others work in these situations to keep ourselves as safe as possible.

This class has really opened my eyes to how much I did not know about an active shooter event. Barret taught me how to protect myself, help others and potentially eliminate the threat. His teaching is informative, clear and factual. I especially appreciate that he gives many real life examples to support the facts. In my opinion, this is a class that everyone should consider taking because we all need this information.

Barrett Kendrick’s Defender School is a “must view” for people living in modern America. He emphasizes the necessity of being prepared for the worst to happen and gives very practical and reasoned advice on how to respond.

As someone who is concerned for the safety of a large number of people, I think it is a necessity, especially for those in church and school classrooms. It’s necessary to be as prepared as possible. This course will help.

Overall, this training made me think of ways that I can hide, direct and protect my students. I teach young children, so hiding and barricading, and providing my students with the instruction to run as soon as they can while I do my best to fight back with whatever weapons are at my disposal if a shooter enters my room seem to be my best options. The videos and supplemental information were very helpful and given in short enough segments that I was able to retain the information and succeed on the quizzes. I will go back and review this information from time to time and I will discuss the information with my coworkers in order to be as prepared as possible. I would suggest that the first aid information and fight back information could be broken up into shorter videos. There was a lot of information presented at once with them. The first aid information was good, but somewhat impractical as most classrooms are not equipped with tourniquets, chest seals, and mylar blankets. Overall, it did make me think about what I have handy and how it could be used in an improvisational manner. I will deliberately store some things that could be used in case of emergency.
